Top Ways To Make a Flipchart Interactive

Page history last edited by Cristina FrancoCarrillo 6 years, 7 months ago

Remember to keep your students in mind.  This is not just a presentation tool, it is intended to be interactive and engaging for your students.

A flipchart checklist from the K-12 center  Be_Active_With_Your_Whiteboard.pdf

Try this tips to create an interactive flipchart:

1.Use the eraser tool to erase the images on the top layer, 'revealing' the text/ answers beneath...

2. Implement groups and pulleys that allow students to bring information in from off the page.

3. Students can interact verbally, read from the ticker tape, then participate using Activotes.

4. Incorporate containers so students will have immediate feedback to the correct answers.

5. Hide images behind "locked" images so students have to pull the information from behind something else.

6. One of my favorite things is graphic organizers (like Venn Diagrams) Students can move objects and/or text into the appropriate sections. If you have Activotes and use the great templates in the software, the entire class can vote on which section of the organizer the object should go and discuss the results/choices as appropriate.

7. Don't forget about all of the math power tools - ruler, compass, protractor, dice! Can be used for measuring, graphing, drawing, probability, just to name a few!

8. Hide an image behind a locked image and invite pupils to move a 'see-through' magnifying-lens or pair of glasses to talk about what they think is happening. This always catches everyone's attention!
